A Different Kind of Change
Hi, all… it’s your friendly, neighborhood karmic servant here! Just wanted to let everyone know that the Summer Survival Kit season has officially started. I received my first few deployment bags at the end of last week and began packing them over the weekend. There’s a little extra room in them this time around as I have omitted the hand/foot warmers, mylar blankets, knit caps, and scarves. So, since keeping hydrated during hot weather is important, for the next few months, Cocoon Kits will include mini bottles of water.
The first, of these kits, was given out an hour ago near Back Bay station to a man who’d asked me for change two weeks earlier. I didn’t have anything on me then, but “I see you,” I told him as I made a mental note to look out for him during my daily commute. When I saw him again today I recognized him and handed him the newly made kit. “Here,” I said, dropping the bag into his lap as he sat on the sidewalk in front of Starbucks. “What’s this?” he asked, looking quizzically from the bag to me then back to the bag. “A different kind of change,” I replied and continued on my way.

Okay, so… only nine hundred ninety-nine more steps to go. ^_^
